Is this even a real company?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am writing from Peoria, Arizona to complain about the "services" this "company" provides. Very unprofessional. The lady who helped us, Emily, could not answer any questions thoroughly and after 3 months of waiting for our client's wheelchair (which never arrived) she proceeded to extend the length of waiting time an additional 120 days. Horrible service, they should be out of business. If they would of at least let us know about the "issues" occurring (which I believe were false) we would have been able to go through a real company like Preferred Homecare and not have wasted some much time behind their lies. Our client suffered due to their negligence. *two thumbs down*

The very worst service

This company is the very worst I have ever delt with, remember what we are dealing with here people who need to get from place to place and in some cases this is the only means of doing so. I work in an apartment house in Philadelphia where a lot of the tenets are older and not in the best health. I have been helping an older woman who uses her scooter as her only way to get around she can't walk more than a couple of feet without falling. Her scooter broke over a month ago the service tech came out and said it needed a new motor every time we called to find out what was going on we where told a different story, I spoke to the owner of the company and he assured me he would take care of the situation and that was weeks ago, when we called they told us they ordered the parts but where waiting for authorization from the insurance co, so I called the insurance company I was told authorization was not needed on durable medical equipment and that national seating and mobility is aware of this so I called and again was given a line they said she needed to sign a guarantee of payment, so they faxed over the paper, why was this not done a month ago? So now we make an appointment to have the scooter repaired and of course the day it was supposed to be repaired the tech was out sick and they needed to reschedule. The best is that they ask if she could bring the scooter to them after I explained that this is her only means of transportation. I would recommend you stay far away from this company... I will keep you up-dated on our progress.

A scooter is a form of mobility used out side of the home. It is transported easily.

Your insurance does not pay to have them come out. Of course you should have to take it in.

You are the ones killing the industry. Soon you will be fixing your scooter yourself.

Failing to order motorchair after paying my 20%

My name is Carolyn Bledsoe and on Oct. 1, 2015, I called your company office in Redlands, CA and paid for my 20% due so the company could move forward and order the chair for my husband.

I told the person I talked to that his present chair had a bad wheel and could they do anything to speed up the process. I called today and no one answered the phone, which is usually the case. After leaving a message, Elise, called back and talked to my husband since I was at work. She said the chair hadn't even been ordered.

I am pissed. This isn't the first time dealing with your company that I have had problems getting the items ordered. Now we have to wait at least 2 to 3 more weeks before getting the chair. This is totally ridicules and unprofessional.

The chair was authorized by our medical insurance company and we were told by Tracy that our cost would be $832.33, which I paid for 3 weeks ago. It cleared my account on Oct. 5, 2015. What do you plan on doing about this?

Very unhappy customer.

If our family medical group wasn't contracted with your company, I would certainly go somewhere else.

Review in Hospitals, Clinics and Medical Centers, Doctors category from Dallas, Texas

I've been reading some of the comments here. Sadly, national seating and mobility hasn't been improving their customer service support by now. My suggestion would be for EVERYONE that has a similar issue(s), contact your local tv stations, and post your issues, complete with updates, (good and bad), to the nsm Chattanooga Tennessee home page. They keep making excuses, having staffing issues (at least here in San Antonio Texas), don't return calls to either the insurance company, Dr office or me. When the Dr office DOES get someone, they tell the Dr office ,"the customer needs to call us with any issues in regards to the wc". Seriously? I have phone records proving that wrong. Still waiting for customer service here

Here we are, some months later. Evidently, answering the phone here in San Antonio Texas office of National Seating and Mobility has now become more complicated than before. You call, follow the voice prompts, get to someone named Isabelles voicemail box, only to learn that it's full and there's an " error" and no one can leave a message

National Seating And Mobility - Wheelchair Review from Irving, Texas

For now, I have nothing to review. The DME company still hasn't seen my wheelchair for repairs.

Now, the other two castor tires are starting to get worse. The batteries are not holding enough of a charge, limiting my daily life. The brakes still need adjustments. Since April/May of this year they've known about both the batteries and brake issue.

Since July of this year, they've known about the tires. As of this writing, THE only attempt to do anything was back in August, for the initial first tire that broke, of which, the tech, who was supposed to call BEFORE they arrived, (but didn't), so, here I am, operating my wheelchair that has been without two castor tires, the other two are breaking down.

If you're looking for a review of National Seating and Mobility from me, the DME company, perhaps you should try Google search. I'm OBVIOUS not the ONLY one that has had issues with them, some people STILL ARE.

Horrible customer service and unsafe wheelchairs.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This is by far one of the worst companies that I have had to deal with. You would think that being in a serviced orientate business for the disabled you would have compassion for people. NOT this company the customer service is horrible. They are a rip off. They never return phone call and they do not know their produce. They are in it for the money only. I paid for my son's wheelchair up front before they delivered it, mainly because they said I had to before they would deliver it. It did not come until 8 months later. after the wheelchair was delivered it broke 2 months later. I took it back in and they fixed it. However 6 months later I get a bill for $2,104.00 Yes two thousand one hundred and four dollars. I called and asked what was the bill for. I was told it was my portion of the balance on the wheelchair. I explained that I paid that befor the wheelchair was deliver, because that was your policy. I heard nothing from them, since. Well the wheelchair broke again. I called National Seating and Mobility and they would not fix the chair because of a outstanding bill. They gave me a price of $3,000.00 to fix my son's chair. really!, and Rachel the Representive I was working with was one of the most rudest perople I have ever spoken with. Please never sure this company for any special needs service in Houston Texas!!!! Your love ones saftety and health is worth more than what they are willing to offer..

I am having kind of the same customer services problems. Only my private insurance company paid 13,000 for a chair for my husband and they want to "drop it off" instead of sending a representative and the therapist that helped to order the chair coming out to fit the chair and make sure that everything is right and that we are happy with the chair, they want us to come to their business to get the chair.

My husband is not able to stand or transfer and they could not put him I into the chair when they were originally doing the fitting because they didn't have a lift in the first place, so it would make more sense for them to go to the nursing facility where they have a lift and can safely place him in the chair to make sure it is right for him. They don't want to be bothered!

I am livid! We have waited months for this chair and they just called me and told me that if we didn't come and get the chair they were going to send it back!

I have called customer service and explained to them that we had made arrangements with them a month before he was to receive the chair. I explained to them that I was going to be going out of town on June 7 and that our 38th Anniversary was June 4. I asked them if they could bring it out and fit it on June 3rd, that it would be such a wonderful Anniversary gift... Being that he has been through a nightmare year where he'd had a sacral decubitus the size of a softball down to bone, along with another wound to the bone on his lateral calf from a borrowed chair because insurance would not

pay for a chair for him, and neglect during a time that I was on vacation.

He had been hospitalized for 8 months and had 3 surgeries... A million dollars worth of hospital bills and a lot of pain and A near death experience. They called me just a few minutes ago and said if I didn't pick up the chair, that they were going to send it back! They just could not be

bothered to bring it to him and fit it as a company with good customer service should do.

I got really bad vibes and started looking this company up and doing some research. Looks as if this very reputable rehab facility should drop them as a chair servicing medical supply company!

Former NSM employee WI branch

Unfortunately I am a former employee of NSM I worked there for 7 years, I can not be more honest, I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life, the management is a joke. They do not care at all, and apparently its ok for managers to hire family members and then let them have affairs with the staff. There is one girl that works for the Madison branch that sounds like she is going to cough up a lung every time she is on the phone, she is THE rudest employee there ever! If I needed medical equipment, I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER get it form NSM and I would NEVER send any of my family or friends there either. I feel so bad for these patients that wait and wait for their repairs/equipment and they need it so bad but NSM doesn't care, its only a number game to them....

Absolute worst Company to deal with

I have 2 wheelchairs that have been purchased from this company. My first experience was good, but thereafter has been terrible. The 2nd chair I bought for my daughter was a transportable chair and I had the hardest time getting someone to come to my home and show me different designs. After 2 months I finally was able to order. It's time for a new wheelchair and I called the office on June 11 and it took the salesman 3 weeks to return my call. Explained to him what I needed acted like he was interested in handling the sale and here I am a month later and never heard back from him. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. This Company is a joke and knows absolutely nothing about Customer Service. This is the NOLA Branch

National Seating And Mobility - Power Chair Review from Charlotte, North Carolina

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Customer service and responsiveness are the worst I've experienced from any business. Unfortunately our insurance provider locked us into doing business with them for many years as Chair & Equipment.

Our son has a progressive muscle wasting disease which slowly eroded his mobility. We started with a scooter purchased from the company. When it broke down, it took weeks to have it repaired ...and they did a real *** job. They messed up the wiring, which failed a short time later.

We finally took it to another dealer, who rewired it and got it up and running. About 5 years later, our son's condition declined and he needed a power chair. It took months to process insurance and place the order. In the meantime we acquired an old oversized loaner chair, which he used for 5 months before his new chair arrived.

He's owned the new chair less than 6 months. It already needs repairs. We called NSM several times.

They were pleasant enough but completely non responsive. This has been going on for at least 2 months and still no remedy.

THE WORST! They take a ridiculous amount of time for service, LIE about why it is taking so long (an employee ACTUALLY told me that they lie sometimes) and are totally incompetent! I am paralyzed, so when my motorized wheelchair doesn't work I am housebound. It is disgusting that they lie to disabled people who are basically at their mercy for help. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Power chair & very slow service and lies. They rip off insurance

It took me 3 months to get my chair. When it was finally delivered they adjusted it then left. I had to call them back, chair was not fitting me right. The front wheels are a fourth a inch or less from foot rest. So they adjusted my seat now my feet don't touch the foot rest. If I wear shoes I have to put my feet on top of each other so it so the wheels don't grab my feet. Which is a safety hazard. They said there is nothing else they can do. All my wires were hanging down even, I tried to tie them up but then I cannot lift the arms. I have to keep tightening all the lose screws and bolts. So I called my insurance co. And they said to show my dr. The chair and see what she says and if it is a safety hazard to order me another chair. Before all this when I asked nsmc they told me Medicare will not pay for another one. My insurance company said Medicare did not pay for it we did. Come to find out my chair was made for a child or a little person. Dr. Said no way we need to get you another chair before you end up with a broken foot or very possibly tip the chair over on top of me. That would cost a lot more from the injuries and several months in hospital. Getting another chair is safer and will cost cost a tons less. So I am going with another medical supplier and so far so good. When I told the insurance company that nsmc said that I did not qualify for a lift chair or any other chair. When I went back to my dr. She said oh yes you do and they should of contacted her on the issue. This time she put on the prescription everything I needed to have a good quality of life. I also told insurance company nsmc charges double what the chair costs. They checked into all this and they can see exactly what I was saying about nsmc.

You pay what the chair is worth minus a 20%-45% insurance discount. Durable Medical Equipment Dealers gets another dealer discount.

That is how they make money. And you got a power w/c in 3 months? WOW that is FAST. It takes 3-6 months for a PWC to get approved, you are LUCKY it came so fast.

And yes, if the client is nasty on the phone they will not get the best service. They do not have to take that ***. Just imagine being a waitress and a customer yells at you. You would still smile but you might drag your feet a bit because no one wants to be treated that way.

The CSR does not order your parts, they can only tell you if they are in the system or not, which they don't do so it's not THIER fault your order isn't in the system.

They can't tell you how long it will take to get here if the vendor doesn't let them know an estimated ship date. They may not know because it is not in the computer, they are not magicians.

Guest

yes, they rip you off. don't care if the chair doesn't fit your needs. they are always right no matter what.

National Seating & Mobility...wheelchair repair

Our insurance provider sent us to National for a new wheelchair for our daughter after having been with Carolina Mobility for the first wheelchair. We had a bolt fall out of the handlebar and needed to get it replaced. It took a week for them to come out and look at it. Then they needed insurance approval. Now, today, 7 weeks after first contacting them, they have ordered the part from the wheelchair company. In another 10 days the part should come in they advised and then they can schedule to come out and repair (which is now the entire handle assembly since the missing bolt caused extra stress on the pieces and caused further damage). Carolina would come out the next day when we called with our first chair. And they would have repair pieces ready to go or they would fix it first and deal with insurance later. Bottom line, if you have a choice, CALL CAROLINA MOBILITY.

For a bolt? You are not the only client.

They schedule you when the have an opening. You want them to not put a motor in someone's chair so you can get a bolt replaced?

Get some tools and handle the easy repairs yourself. Too many people will not tighten a screw, and you wonder why you have to wait so long for service....

Our son Zack is suffering because of gross neglect .

Last June 2014 we contacted National Seating here in West Virginia for a new wheelchair for our quadriplegic Son Zackary. After months of waiting, with a continuous run a round from NS claiming every excuse they could muster up.

They claimed they didn't receive the paperwork from the Doctor and Therapist, which was nothing but a lie. It was sent to them at least two times. Then they said they were waiting for approval from Medicare and Medicaid for several more months, only to finally receive a chair in December that wasn't even close to being right. They even admitted the seating and laterals were totally wrong.

The first seat they sent was a air seat that leaked off within a couple hours of use.The seat was supposed to be a gel seat in the first place. So next they sent a foam padded seat without the foam. Needless to say that didn't work. That was 18 days ago.

At that time they said they would be right back up and repair the chair. Guess what?

No word from them.

Meanwhile our son is suffering physically and mentally having to continue using his old worn out chair that no longer comes close to fitting him. It has now been about one year since the process was first started. What they are putting our son through is borderline criminal and we are fed up with junk chairs and lies.
